PROJECT DESCRIPTION: |
Payment is on a lo/no/deferred basis.
Director: Holly Mahan. Controlled Burn is dark comedy exploring the boundaries of friends and lovers. An homage to the SF Bay Area, this unique production extends throughout the seasons, beginning Feb 11, 2012 and ending in Sept/Oct 2012. Weekend shoots, will work around your schedules, with the exception of a few dates TBD to coincide with summer events. Development starts in mid-January. Improvisational actors are encouraged to apply. This is a low budget, non union feature film. Credit, copy, and meals provided. Please email resume, headshot, and link to your reel.

lila is a large woman in her early thirties. She is of Hispanic origin, shy but talkative, and can dance. She stutters sometimes when agitated and looks younger than her age.

Jesse is in his early twenties with an athletic build and average height. He has a shaved head and well-maintained beard. He likes to ride motorcylcles, snowboard, and party. He has a deep voice, likes to mimic others, and looks older than his age, except for his clothes.
3. Female / 41-50 yrs. / Caucasian.
Jennifer is a woman in her fourties who still looks and act likes a heavy metal rocker from the early 80's. She's lila's wingwoman.
4. Female / 31-40 yrs. / Any Ethnicity.
Diavola is lila's friend. She is a beautiful woman with an athletic build in her mid-thirties. She is openly gay, but all genders are attracted to her. She has a large tatoo across her back.

Yvonne is lila's and Jesse's roommate. She is a very short woman in her mid-thiries who looks like she's in her teens. She shuffles when she walks and her voice is like fingernails on the chalkboard. She has a closet drinking problem and wears a perpetual chipmunk scowl.

Mr. Arcana is a good-looking man in his mid-forties with intense bedroom eyes. He is of average height and has an athletic build. He is the ultimate perpetual bachelor and is lila's secret lover. |
